A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the closure of state agencies and institutions of
higher education on Juneteenth.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 662.004(b), Government Code, is amended
to read as follows:
(b) This section does not apply to a state holiday that
falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the 19th day of June, the Friday
after Thanksgiving Day, or the 24th or 26th day of December.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
