This bill would amend the Election Code to require early voting clerks to send a runoff ballot to certain voters in certain elections. The bill would direct the Secretary of State (SOS) to prescribe certain preferential voting procedures in these elections.According to the SOS, no significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated. Local Government ImpactAccording to Cameron County, the county is unable to determine the total fiscal impact of the bill; however, it could cost at least $15,000 per election for processing and storage of additional ballots. According to Williamson County, the fiscal impact to the county would be over $10,000 per election.
