                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 3, 2021       TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB788 by Geren (Relating to the eligibility of emergency service dispatchers to participate in a public safety employees treatment court program.), As Engrossed     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Government Code by adding emergency service dispatcher to thedefinition of public safety employee eligible for participation in the public safety employeetreatment court program.Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources.  Local Government ImpactThe Texas Association of Counties does not anticipate a significant fiscal impact to counties.
