The bill would amend the Government Code to mandate certain contract and notice requirements applicable to certain facilities used to house inmates or releasees from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The bill would require TDCJ to transfer certain real property to the City of Burnet. The bill would require the land to be used for a purpose that benefits the public; otherwise, it would automatically revert to TDCJ.According to TDCJ, no significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
