H.R. No. 1595
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jillian Howell of Bushland High School achieved
great distinction by winning a gold medal in the 3A girls' shot put
event at the 2021 University Interscholastic League Track & Field
State Meet; and
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 6, Ms. Howell turned
in a notable performance, winning the state title with a throw of 40
feet, 3.25 inches; and
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
high school track and field athletes, Jillian Howell has ably
represented her school and community, and she will cherish her
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jillian Howell on her gold-medal
performance in the 3A shot put at the 2021 UIL Track & Field State
Meet and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Howell as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
