R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Charles Demmings of Horn High School in Mesquite
achieved great distinction by winning the bronze medal in the 6A
triple jump at the 2021 University Interscholastic League Track &
Field State Meet; and
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 8, Mr. Demmings
turned in a notable performance, recording a jump of 48 feet, 4.5
inches, to claim third place in the event; and
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
high school track and field athletes, Charles Demmings has ably
represented his school and community, and he will cherish his
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Charles Demmings on his
bronze-medal finish in the 6A triple jump at the 2021 UIL Track &
Field State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Demmings as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
