87R8392 JGH-D By: Guillen H.R. No. 55 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Duard B. McGuffin Jr. of Rio Grande City, who died on January 14, 2021, at the age of 73; and WHEREAS, "Pinky" McGuffin was born in Rio Grande City on July 12, 1947, to Duard McGuffin and Thelma Saldana, and he grew up with four siblings, Carolyn, Frances, James, and Patrick; he shared a rewarding marriage with his wife, Consuelo "Connie" T. McGuffin, and he was the proud father of two children, Deborah and Robert; later in life, he had the pleasure of welcoming into his family four grandchildren, Victoria, Matthew, Garrett, and Carol; and WHEREAS, During high school in Rio Grande City, Mr. McGuffin was a member of the Mighty Rattlers football team, wearing jersey number 71; after graduating in 1965, he attended Laredo Junior College, and he served in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1973; he enjoyed a long career in the oil and gas services industry, working first for his family's business, J&M Well Service, and then starting his own company, Remco Services, Inc.; moreover, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus; and WHEREAS, A devoted family man and a hardworking professional, Pinky McGuffin lived a rich and purposeful life, and those he leaves behind will forever cherish their memories of this kind and caring man; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Duard B. McGuffin Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Duard B. McGuffin Jr.
