The bill would amend Chapter 54 of the Education Code to expand the Prepaid Higher Education Tuition Program to allow tuition units to pay for tuition and required fees at registered apprenticeship programs.Based on the analysis provided by the Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Comptroller of Public Accounts, it is assumed that the costs associated with the provisions of the bill relating to the payment of tuition and required fees at registered apprenticeship programs using a prepaid tuition contract could be absorbed using existing resources.
