                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 20, 2021       TO: Honorable Bryan Hughes, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: SB1116 by Bettencourt (Relating to a county, city, or independent school district posting election results on an Internet website.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Election Code to require a county that holds or provides election services for an election administered by the county and a city or independent school district that holds an election to post on its public Internet website, provided it maintains one, certain information about those elections. The bill specifies certain requirements for the location of the required information. According to the Secretary of State, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.   Local Government ImpactAccording to the Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal implication to counties is anticipated. No other responses from units of local governments were received.
