                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             April 9, 2021       TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: SB1129 by Zaffirini (relating to guardianships, alternatives to guardianship, and 3 supports and services for incapacitated persons.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Estates Code to require the Office of Court Administration (OCA) to establish by rule a mediation training course that includes at least 24 hours of training for mediators of contested guardianships and related proceedings. Under the bill's provisions, the office could provide the training through a training provider.Based on information provided by the OCA, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
