The bill would amend the Special District Local Laws Code to create the Gulf Coast Protection District encompassing territory in Chambers, Galveston, Harris, Jefferson, and Orange Counties.  Local Government ImpactThe extent of property acquisition and the bond obligations of the prospective district are unknown and consequently the fiscal implications for the protection district and the local taxing jurisdictions cannot be determined.
