The bill would amend the Transportation Code to establish the I-27 Advisory Committee to provide advice and recommendations to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) on transportation improvements to be made in the Ports-to-Plains Corridor. The bill would prescribe the membership of the advisory committee, which would include the mayors of certain cities who would be charged with appointing the remaining members of the advisory committee. An advisory committee member would not be entitled to receive compensation for service or reimbursement for expenses incurred in the performance of duties as a member of the committee.Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with TxDOT participation with the advisory committee established by the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
