                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 8, 2021       TO: Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: SB1895 by Huffman (Relating to a Texas Medical Board complaint for a violation described by Section 22.011(b)(12), Penal Code.), As Engrossed     No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would amend the Occupations Code to change the time-frame after which the Texas Medical Board (TMB) can no longer consider or act on a complaint related to fertility fraud as described by Section 22.011(b)(12), Penal Code. The bill would allow TMB to consider these complaints if received within seven years of the date of care or within two years from the date the complainant knew or should have known of the violation, whichever date is later.
