                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 20, 2021       TO: Honorable Jim Murphy, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: SB1963 by West (relating to the reporting by certain public institutions of higher education on the transferability of credit and to a transferability report card for those institutions.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require certain public institutions of higher education to post on each institution's website a transferability report card no later than August 1 of each year, beginning in 2023. The Higher Education Coordinating Board, in consultation with institutions of higher education, would develop a model transferability report card. It is assumed any costs associated with the bill could be implemented within existing resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
