The bill would amend Transportation Code 201.612, regarding a state review process and Transportation Commission approval requirement for construction of a bridge over the Rio Grande, to provide an exemption from the requirements for a political subdivision for a project that is for the reconstruction, expansion, or maintenance of an existing bridge and has received approval from the United States under 33 U.S.C. Chapter 11, Subchapter IV, authorizing the project. Based on the analysis provided by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), it is assumed implementation of the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to TxDOT or the State.
