The bill would amend Government Code Section 551.001 to include the board of directors of certain reinvestment zones created under Chapter 311 of the Tax Code as within the meaning of a governmental body subject to open meeting requirements.The Comptroller's office indicates that there would be no administrative costs to the agency. Local Government ImpactAccording to the Comptroller's office, the City of Houston and City of Galveston both have tax increment reinvestment zones created under Chapter 311 of the Tax Code and both cities determined that no fiscal implication is anticipated.
