The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Texas Veterans Commission to provide citizenship assistance by evaluating a veteran's citizenship status, upon request, and educating the veteran on becoming a United States citizen and assist in facilitating the naturalization process. This analysis assumes there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill that could be absorbed within current resources.
