The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to allow a peace officer commissioned by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) to voluntarily transfer to a legislative leave pool up to eight hours of compensatory time or annual leave per year earned by the peace officer. The bill would require TPWD to adopt rules relating to the leave pool. The bill would take effect September 1, 2021. Based on information provided by TPWD, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources. Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
