                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             April 5, 2021       TO: Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: SB985 by Buckingham (Relating to reports by the Public Utility Commission of Texas on the ability of electric generators to respond to abnormal weather conditions.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to reports by the Public Utility Commission (PUC) on the ability of electric generators to respond to abnormal weather conditions could be absorbed using existing resources.The PUC anticipates a cost of $300,000 that would be funded by ERCOT and the non-ERCOT utilities through a PUC order.
