SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 82
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the state's grocery store employees for their
exceptional efforts during the historic February 2021 winter
storm; and
WHEREAS, When the massive winter storm hit Texas, much of
the state was left without power for nearly a week, and citizens
across Texas faced serious food and water shortages; and
WHEREAS, The state's grocery store workers have spent
nearly a full year bravely serving Texans in the face of their own
personal risk during the COVID-19 pandemic, and their efforts
during the massive winter storm were a continuation of their
selfless service to their communities; and
WHEREAS, Texas grocery store workers were a vital part of
the state's response to the devastating 2021 winter storm, and
they truly deserve special recognition for their invaluable
services to the public; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby extend heartfelt gratitude to the grocery
store employees for their hard work and countless contributions
to the people of Texas; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
their honor.
