 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Marine Lance Corporal
 David Lee Espinoza of Laredo suffered an immeasurable loss with the
 death of this valiant soldier on August 26, 2021, at the age of 20;
 and
 WHEREAS, Corporal Espinoza was killed in a suicide bombing
 attack near the international airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, while
 assisting with the evacuation of civilians from the country; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Laredo and raised in Rio Bravo, David Lee
 Espinoza was a 2019 graduate of Lyndon B. Johnson High School; his
 loving family included his mother, Elizabeth Holguin, his
 stepfather, Victor Manuel Dominguez, and his three younger
 siblings; after high school, his desire to serve his country
 inspired him to enlist in the military, and he was stationed in
 Jordan for two years before being transferred to Afghanistan a week
 before his death; and
 WHEREAS, For his heroism and sacrifice, Americans owe
 Corporal David Lee Espinoza a debt that the passage of time can
 never diminish, and his legacy of courageous service will forever
 be a source of pride to those who knew and loved him; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
 U.S. Marine Lance Corporal David Lee Espinoza and extend heartfelt
 condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Corporal
 Espinoza.
