No. 125 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Fred Alonzo Rangel of San Antonio, an esteemed civic leader and friend to many, passed away on October 2, 2021, at the age of 66; and WHEREAS, Freddie Rangel was born in Corpus Christi on October 21, 1954, to the Reverend Frank Rangel Sr. and Sylvia Rangel, and he grew up with the companionship of five brothers, Rudolfo, Frank, Robert, Gilbert, and Richard; after graduating from Memorial High School in San Antonio, he earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978; he later received a diploma in biblical studies from the Latin American Bible Institute in San Antonio; and WHEREAS, Mr. Rangel founded ADCO Master Builders in 1991, and he served for many years as president and chief executive officer; over the course of his tenure, he played an instrumental role in building commercial and residential structures in the San Antonio area; passionate about politics, he served as president of the Republican Party of Bexar County, as a precinct chair, and as a member of the State Republican Executive Committee; and WHEREAS, A man of deep faith throughout his life, Mr. Rangel served as youth minister at La Trinidad Assembly of God Church and as associate minister at East Central Assembly of God Church; most recently, he was an active member of Westover Hills Church, where he volunteered countless hours with several ministries; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Rangel benefited from the love and support of his wife, Debbie, and he took great pride in their daughter, Amy; over the years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include two grandchildren, Luna and Joaquin; in his leisure time, he enjoyed playing golf, playing the guitar, and going dancing with his wife; and WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family and his community, Freddie Rangel made a meaningful difference in the lives of his loved ones and fellow citizens alike, and his contributions will be fondly remembered for years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Fred Alonzo Rangel and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Freddie Rangel.
