No. 44 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Arthur John Polchinski Jr., an esteemed member of the Temple community and a friend to many, passed away on September 14, 2021, at the age of 61; and WHEREAS, The son of Arthur Polchinski Sr. and Elisabeth Polchinski, Arti Polchinski was born at Fort Jay on Governor's Island in New York on September 17, 1959; he grew up in a military family with seven siblings, William, Joseph, Rosie, Mary, Helen, Dorothy, and Teresa, and graduated from Ansbach American High School in Germany; a talented athlete, he was scouted by the Milwaukee Brewers and received a baseball scholarship to the University of Nevada, Reno; he went on to attend the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor; and WHEREAS, While employed in Central Texas as a recreational therapist for Baylor Scott and White Health, Mr. Polchinski met his future wife, Susan; the couple became the proud parents of a son, Avery, and a daughter, Abby; and WHEREAS, Mr. Polchinski later worked for Wilsonart for many years; dedicated to the youth of the community, he eventually joined the staff of Hector P. Garcia Elementary School as a physical education paraprofessional; he was a nurturing and supportive presence, and he set a positive example for the students through his kind and gentle ways; and WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Polchinski coached many different sports, and he was involved in swim lessons at UMHB and in programs at Ralph Wilson Youth Club; a member of the Temple Quarterback Club, he also assisted with coaching and events at St. Mary's Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Catholic High School; his greatest passion was helping others, and his warm smile and wonderful sense of humor brightened the days of innumerable people; and WHEREAS, Arti Polchinski lived a rich and purposeful life centered around his family and his community, and he will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Arthur John Polchinski Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to his loved ones; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Arti Polchinski.
