H.R. No. 47
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Kevin Raines was elected as mayor of the City of
Rosenberg on May 1, 2021; and
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Mayor Raines
draws on a wealth of valuable experience; this committed public
official won election to the Rosenberg City Council in June 2019,
and he was named mayor pro tem later that month and again the
following year; he has further contributed to the city as a member
of the Parks and Recreation Board, the Rosenberg Development
Corporation Board, the Fort Bend Economic Development Council, and
various other committees; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Rosenberg since the early 1990s, Mayor
Raines worked for the city's police department for nearly two
decades, serving as a patrol officer, patrol sergeant, and
detective before retiring in 2011; in all his endeavors, he enjoys
the love and support of his wife, Lisa, and their three daughters;
and
WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Kevin Raines
may reflect with pride on his accomplishments as he takes on the
challenges and opportunities of his role as mayor; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Kevin Raines
on his election as mayor of Rosenberg and extend to him sincere best
wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mayor Raines as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
