R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Virginia and Robert Lee
Martin celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August
5, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martin were joined in matrimony in 1961
at First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro; over the years, they
have been blessed with a fine family that includes their two
children, Karen and her husband, Mike, and Keith and his wife,
Tamara, as well as three grandchildren, Worth, Kayla, and the late
Carter Thornton; and
WHEREAS, Proud alumni of Jacksboro High School, Mr. Martin is
a member of the Class of 1960 and Mrs. Martin graduated the
following year with the Class of 1961; they both went on to attend
Tarleton State University; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martin have enjoyed six decades of
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Virginia and
Robert Lee Martin on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Martin as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
