                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 88TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             March 21, 2023       TO: Honorable Stephanie Klick, Chair, House Committee on Public Health     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1805 by Klick (Relating to the medical use of low-THC cannabis by patients with certain medical conditions.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. Based on the analysis of the Health and Human Services Commission and the Department of State Health Services, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. While the increase in enforcement complaints for the Texas Medical Board (TMB) cannot be estimated, this estimate assumes that given the scope of the bill and the affected licensee population, TMB will similarly be able to fulfill any duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill by utilizing existing resources.  Local Government ImpactNo significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
