The bill would modify the misdemeanor punishment for failing to comply with an order of a county fire marshal by making a first offense punishable as a Class C misdemeanor, a second offense punishable as a Class B misdemeanor, and an offense resulting in bodily injury or death punishable as a Class A misdemeanor. The bill would authorize certain county employees to issue a citation for a violation related to certain orders from a fire marshal or commissioners court and authorize the court to issue an arrest warrant for such a violation under certain conditions. It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant. Local Government ImpactIt is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
