The bill would expand the applicability of the criminal offense prohibiting possession of a firearm for a person previously convicted of a misdemeanor assault offense against a family member or household member to include a person previously convicted of such an assault on a person within a dating relationship.  Local Government ImpactIt is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
