 Fiscal Analysis

The bill would include the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement commissioned peace officers in Schedule C of the position classification salary schedule.This bill would take effect September 1, 2023.  

 Methodology

Based on information provided by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, this analysis assumes a salaries and benefits cost of $517,795 per year to move current peace officers to their comparable rank within Schedule C.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
