The bill would amend Transportation Code, Chapter 251, regarding county authority relating to roads and bridges, to specify that, to the extent permitted by federal law, a county with a population of less than 100,000 is not required to use a procurement procedure required by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the Texas Transportation Commission, or Subtitle B, Title 6 of the Transportation Code, for a purchase of materials related to the construction or maintenance of a county road.Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed implementation of the bill would have no fiscal implication to the state.
