A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the issuance of a temporary license by the Department of
Public Safety.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 521.001(a)(3), Transportation Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(3) "Driver's license" means an authorization issued
by the department for the operation of a motor vehicle. The term
includes:
(A) a [temporary license or] learner license; and
(B) an occupational license.
SECTION 2. Section 521.124, Transportation Code, is
repealed.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
