The bill would amend Transportation Code, Chapter 201, Subchapter P, relating to the Unified Transportation Program (UTP), to require the Texas Transportation Commission by rule to include a category in the UTP for projects related to improving border security and establishing international trade corridors.  Based on the information provided by the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
