A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the titling and registration of motor vehicles by motor
vehicle dealers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 520, Transportation Code, is amended by
adding Section 520.0055 to read as follows:
Sec. 520.0055. DUTIES OF MOTOR VEHICLE DEALERS. A motor
vehicle dealer shall use the electronic system designed by the
department and made available by a county assessor-collector under
Section 520.005 to submit a title and registration application in
the name of the purchaser of a motor vehicle.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
