A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to information on the transfer of license plates included
in an application for title and registration of a motor vehicle.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 501.0041, Transportation Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
(c) An application form for title and registration of a
motor vehicle shall:
(1) include an option for the applicant to transfer
license plates from another motor vehicle to the vehicle that is the
subject of the application in accordance with Section 504.901(a);
and
(2) allow the applicant to attach to the application
the appropriate form necessary for the transfer of the license
plates.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
