The bill would amend Transportation Code, Section 501.0041, to require the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) to include on an application for title and registration of a vehicle, an option for the applicant to transfer license plates from another motor vehicle to the vehicle that is the subject of the application. Based on the information provided by TxDMV, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the department's existing resources.
