The bill would amend Chapter 6 of the Tax Code, relating to Local Administration, to provide that the governing body of a hospital district is entitled to vote for candidates for the board of directors of the appraisal district in which the hospital district participates. The bill would apply to the selection of appraisal district directors for terms that begin on or after January 1, 2024.The bill would direct the chief appraiser to deliver notice of the number of votes to all voting taxing units including the presiding officer of the governing body and the hospital administrator of each hospital district participating in the district.
