A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the creation of an additional judicial district
composed of Kaufman County.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 24, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 24.60034 to read as follows:
Sec. 24.60034. 489TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (KAUFMAN COUNTY).
The 489th Judicial District is composed of Kaufman County.
SECTION 2. The 489th Judicial District is created on
January 1, 2024.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
