A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to gas supply information provided to the independent
organization certified for the ERCOT power region.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 38.074, Utilities Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
(c) The rules must authorize the independent organization
certified under Section 39.151 for the ERCOT power region to
require that a gas utility, as defined by Section 121.001, that owns
or controls a facility that is designated as critical under Section
81.073, Natural Resources Code, or that provides physical gas
delivery to an electric cooperative, municipally owned utility, or
power generation company provide to the independent organization
information in real time about the utility's gas supply, including
through telemetry or the use of a hotline.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
