Lozano, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB5255 by Lopez, Ray (Relating to the collection and publication of data on affordable housing by municipalities.), As Introduced     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require certain municipalities to conduct annual surveys of all affordable housing units within their jurisdictions. Certain information on each affordable housing unit would be required to be maintained in cloud-based data repositories and to be made publicly available via an Internet web application and a mobile application. Municipalities would be required to make this affordable housing data available to state agencies upon request.
