The bill would amend Transportation Code, Chapter 504, to allow the surviving spouse of a person who was the posthumous recipient of a Star of Texas Award or a Peace Officer Purple Heart Award to be entitled to receive specialty plates issued for recipients of those awards.Based on the information provided by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, it is assumed implementation of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State.
