                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 88TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             May 15, 2023       TO: Honorable Kelly Hancock, Chair, Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB671 by Gonzlez, Mary (Relating to a veterans suicide prevention campaign.), As Engrossed     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would direct the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) to conduct a suicide prevention campaign, establish a website to provide suicide prevention information, and collaborate with community-based, nonprofit, or private organizations to conduct the campaign. TVC could solicit and accept gifts and grants for the purpose of the campaign. This analysis assumes costs to implement the bill's provisions could be absorbed within existing resources.
