The bill would limit the use of administrative segregation for certain offenders. According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice the fiscal impact associated with the bill's provisions cannot be determined. The agency may need to implement certain operational changes such as staffing patterns in order to appropriately supervise offenders of this classification.
