No. 1013 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Kristi Hassett is concluding her service to the Lewisville Independent School District Board of Trustees in May 2023; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Hassett has represented Place 6 on the school board since 2014, and she was elected to her third term in 2020; she has worked tirelessly in behalf of the district, which serves more than 49,000 students at 70 campuses; over the course of her nine-year tenure, she has been a member of the Lewisville ISD House Bill 5 graduation plan committee, and she participated in the INSIDE LISD Community Leadership Program; and WHEREAS, A resident of Lewisville since 1978, Mrs. Hassett also lends her time and support to such organizations as Texans Advocating for Meaningful Student Assessments, Make Education a Priority, and Speak Up For Texas Public Schools; moreover, she serves as a mentor with Communities In Schools of North Texas and is actively involved with 100 Women Who Care-North Texas and the Young Men's Service League Pacesetter Chapter; and WHEREAS, Earlier in her career, Mrs. Hassett worked for BancTec and FedEx; she holds a degree in business administration from the University of North Texas; in all her endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of her husband, Mike, and their three children; and WHEREAS, Through her unwavering commitment to public education, Kristi Hassett has greatly benefited Lewisville ISD students, and her contributions will resonate in the community for years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby commend Kristi Hassett for her service to the Lewisville Independent School District Board of Trustees and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Hassett as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
