R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Daniela Romero of Gallardo Elementary School has
been named the 2022-2023 Bilingual/ESL Teacher of the Year by the
San Antonio Area Association for Bilingual Education; and
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Area Association for Bilingual
Education is dedicated to the effective implementation of
bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural education, and it annually
recognizes outstanding bilingual/ESL teachers with this
prestigious award; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Romero grew up in Mexico and moved to San
Antonio as a teenager; after earning a bachelor's degree in
interdisciplinary studies from The University of Texas at
San Antonio, she began her career at the Southside Independent
School District in 2014, and she currently serves the district as a
fifth-grade dual-language teacher at Gallardo Elementary; and
WHEREAS, Daniela Romero exemplifies the passion,
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Daniela Romero on her selection as
the 2022-2023 Bilingual/ESL Teacher of the Year by the San Antonio
Area Association for Bilingual Education and extend to her sincere
best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Romero as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
