 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Cece Cox and Shelly Skeen of Dallas were joined in
 matrimony on September 4, 2021, and they have found in each other a
 loving life partner; and
 WHEREAS, Both professionals in the field of law, Ms. Cox and
 Ms. Skeen first met through their involvement in local and state
 legal organizations, and they quickly bonded over their shared
 commitment to serving others; the couple exchanged wedding vows in
 a ceremony at White Rock Lake in Dallas, and their marriage is a
 source of great joy to their families and to their many friends; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Cox has distinguished herself as a dedicated
 advocate for the LGBTQ+ and HIV communities, and she has helped
 promote local policies to prevent discrimination, harassment, and
 bullying; she currently serves as the chief executive officer of
 Resource Center, which operates one of the largest LGBTQ+ community
 centers in the United States and provides health services and
 programs to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS; she has also held
 leadership positions with a number of civic and professional
 organizations, including the Simmons School of Education and Human
 Development at Southern Methodist University, CenterLink, and the
 Texas Women's Foundation; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Skeen practiced law as a litigator, mediator,
 and arbitrator for two decades, and in 2019, she joined Lambda
 Legal, an organization that strives to advance the civil rights of
 LGBTQ+ people as well as individuals who are living with HIV; she is
 a senior attorney at the South Central Regional Office in Dallas;
 over the course of her career, she has worked on numerous
 groundbreaking cases and advocacy efforts that fight against
 anti-LGBTQ+ legislation; and
 WHEREAS, Cece Cox and Shelly Skeen have brightened each
 other's lives with laughter, kindness, and devotion, and the
 strength of their love ensures that many more joyful days await
 them; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Cece Cox and Shelly Skeen on their
 marriage and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
 happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Cox and Ms. Skeen as an expression of high regard
 by the Texas House of Representatives.
