H.R. No. 1267 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Elsie Jean Jacobs Ivey of Clint, who passed away on July 23, 2022, at the age of 80; and WHEREAS, The daughter of L. R. and Pearl Jacobs, the former Jean Jacobs was born in Kilgore on May 6, 1942, and she grew up with the companionship of a brother, Arden; she graduated from Clint High School and went on to attend McMurry University; she began her professional career in the Ysleta Independent School District, and in 1977, she joined the payroll department for Clint ISD, where she worked until her retirement; and WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Ivey enjoyed the love and support of her husband, Jerry Ivey, with whom she shared a fulfilling union until his passing in 2019; she took great pride in her children, Debbie and Wayne, and over the years, she had the pleasure of welcoming 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren into the family; a woman of faith, she was a valued congregant of Bond Memorial United Methodist Church in Clint; and WHEREAS, Although Jean Ivey is greatly missed, the passage of time can never diminish the love and joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Elsie Jean Jacobs Ivey and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her children, Debra Jean Ivey Engle and Thomas Wayne Ivey and his wife, Reagan; to her brother, Arden Reo Jacobs; to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jean Ivey.
