R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
of Jerry Wayne Ivey, who passed away on May 3, 2019, at the age of
77; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Ivey was the son of Carroll and Dorothea Ivey,
and he grew up with a brother, Robert, and a sister, Carol; and
WHEREAS, In the course of his rewarding career as an
educator, Mr. Ivey worked at a number of school districts,
including the Sierra Blanca, Culberson County-Allamoore, Socorro,
and Ysleta Independent School Districts; he retired from Ysleta ISD
as a vocational administrator; and
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Ivey enjoyed the love and
support of his wife, Jean, and he took great pride in their
children, Debbie and Wayne; with the passing years, he had the
pleasure of welcoming into his family numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this treasured
man's love and friendship will always remember him with great
admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jerry Wayne Ivey and
extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jerry Ivey.
