No. 132 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Daniel Casey has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving public education in Texas, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his many contributions; and WHEREAS, Mr. Casey enjoyed a rewarding career as a founding partner of public school consulting firm Moak Casey that spanned 24 years before his retirement in 2022, and he continues to serve the organization as a consultant; he is also a senior consultant with the Fast Growth School Coalition and has been recognized as one of the state's leading experts on school district property taxes, economic development property value limitations, and freeport exemptions; and WHEREAS, Respected in his profession, Mr. Casey has worked for the Texas State Comptroller's Office and the Legislative Budget Board, and he is a former associate director of the Texas Association of School Boards; in addition, he has been involved with the American Economic Association, the American Educational Research Association, the American Political Science Association, the American Society for Public Administration, and the American Statistical Association; and WHEREAS, Mr. Casey holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he also pursued postgraduate studies in the College of Education; he earned his master's degree in public affairs from The University of Texas at Austin; and WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor of vital importance to the continued prosperity of the Lone Star State, and through his wide-ranging expertise in finance and public policy, Daniel Casey has made valuable contributions to school districts all across Texas; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby commend Daniel Casey for his efforts to further public education in Texas and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Casey as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
