 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A group of 11 dedicated students from The University
 of Texas Rio Grande Valley have rendered outstanding service to the
 Texas Legislature during the 88th Session as participants in the
 Rio Grande Valley Legislative Internship Program; and
 WHEREAS, This initiative offers students at the university an
 opportunity to learn about the legislative process and to gain
 valuable experience while putting their skills and knowledge to
 work; and
 WHEREAS, Each participant is placed with a legislative office
 and is immersed in an environment that combines academic rigor with
 real-world responsibility; individuals selected for this
 prestigious program work full-time during the session and must also
 complete a six-hour political science course for academic credit;
 and
 WHEREAS, This year's class of interns includes Hector Chapa,
 who is working in the office of Representative Sergio Muñoz Jr.,
 Zeila Chavez in the office of Senator Judith Zaffirini, Lizette
 Galaviz in the office of Representative Armando Martinez, Mireya
 Garcia in the office of Representative Erin Gámez, Roberto Garcia
 in the office of Representative Terry Canales, Anthony Hernandez in
 the office of Representative Janie Lopez, Karina Lucio in the
 office of Representative Bobby Guerra, Derek Luna in the office of
 Representative Oscar Longoria, Sontino Mann in the office of
 Representative Ryan Guillen, Jocelyne Montelongo in the office of
 Senator Morgan LaMantia, and Matthew Rodriguez in the office of
 Senator Chuy Hinojosa; and
 WHEREAS, The members of this notable group have performed
 their duties as legislative interns with great skill and diligence,
 and they are indeed deserving of special recognition for their fine
 work; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend the participants in the Rio Grande
 Valley Legislative Internship Program for their contributions to
 the Texas Legislature and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued success in all their endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the interns as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
