No. 1538 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Adrian Hernandez has ably served his fellow Texans as a policy analyst in the office of State Representative Gene Wu during the 88th Legislative Session; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Hernandez has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, including developing policy recommendations in such areas as criminal justice, housing equity, and public education reform, as well as managing hearing schedules and coordinating advocacy efforts; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and WHEREAS, A senior at the University of Houston, Mr. Hernandez is a recipient of the Hobby Fellowship, which allows UH students to work in the Texas Capitol full time during regular legislative sessions, and he has previously completed internships with the nonprofit organizations Every Texan and Mi Familia Vota; moreover, he is a Take Action for Power Fellow of the Funders' Collaborative on Youth Organizing and the cofounder of Houstonians Enacting Liberation, a youth organization focused on equitable and sustainable urban development policies; and WHEREAS, Adrian Hernandez has performed his duties as a policy analyst with skill and dedication, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby commend Adrian Hernandez for his service as a policy analyst in the office of State Representative Gene Wu and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
